Autocom CDP+ for Cars Trucks Generic


The Autocom CDP+ is a diagnostic tool used wirelessly with a PC or Pocket PC and Autocoms powerful CARS Diagnostic software, making it a powerful and flexible tool for all vehicle shops, fleet owners, vehicle testing, road service, police and armed forces.

CDP+ is a quick and reliable diagnostic tool serving as a link between vehicle and computer. It works on both old and new vehicles.

Simply connect Auocom CDP+ to the diagnostic socket in the vehicle and it will communicate wirelessly with the diagnostic software installed on your PC.

With CARS, you are able to perform brand specific diagnostics for cars and light vans from 1988 onwards. A total of 47 different brands. With TRUCKS software package, you are able to perform brand specific diagnostics for light and heavy commercial vehicles, buses and trailers from 1995 onwards.

FEATURES & BENEFITS:

FLIGHT RECORDER. With the flight recorder function, you can record parameters in real time while you are driving a vehicle. During recording, you can, with a press of a button, highlight the specific error so that you can investigate the detected error at a later time. CDP+ is equipped with built-in memory thus removing the need to bring a computer. Memory card not include in package.

MULTI COLOUR INDICATOR. With the multi colour indicator on CDP+, you have full control of the diagnostic process. Different colors and sound communicates the status and the placement of the indicator allows you to see it from a far. For example, if the indicator alternates between blue and green the CDP+ is in communication with the vehicle control unit.

CONNECTOR WITH LED. To locate the diagnostic connector in the vehicle with ease, even if it’s located in a dark and inaccessible place, there is a LED on the 16-pin connector to help you along. The location and the design allows the light to function even when using the adaptor cable for vehicles without a 16-pin diagnostic socket.

VOLTAGE CHECK. When Autocom CDP+ is connected to the vehicle, the unit will check the battery voltage of the vehicle and automatically adjusts itself to the vehicle’s voltage level of 12 or 24 volts. If the voltage gets too high or too low, CDP+ will warn you with both sound and light and you will also be alerted through the battery icon in our diagnostic software.

CHASSIS NUMBER VIN. In our CARS software, we have a smart function that allows you to read out the chassis number from the vehicle that you would like to diagnose. This ensures that the right model and year is selected automatically. In addition, engine code for vehicles, which are commonly available on the markets, is also selected automatically.

ISS. Intelligent System Scan (ISS) scans through all the systems in the vehicle and displays the fault codes that are stored in each system. This saves time and you get a quick overview of the actual status of the entire vehicle. When the ISS is complete, you can then select a specific control system to analyse the results further on.
ISI. Intelligent System Identification (ISI) identifies and selects automatically the type of controller that is mounted in the vehicle. This ensures that the diagnostic session is performed correctly with the correct parameters as required.

REPORT FUNCTION. Under this function tab, you will be able to see the adaptations and adjustments that are possible for a specific vehicle without having the vehicle near you. Together with the help texts as a guide, you can plan and be effective in your work; even under complex situations.

OBD-FUNCTIONS. CDP+ is equipped with an unique multiplexer technology, which allows it to be used on all types of vehicles, regardless of voltage levels and communication standards. For those vehicles that do not use the standard 16-pin connector, we offer a complete set of certified and customized adapter cables and kits.

GM MDI installation:

PC specification require: Full installation version WIN XP3, pls install all the systerm patch (picture 0)
1: Open the software folder, double click "CD Start"pop-up installation window,and click "install" ( Picture 1)
2: Pls install the software in order : JAV A.EXE;Validat.exe;GMMDI Software.exe;Tech2Win.exe; (picture 2-6)
3: automatic install all the files above, when have message " Copying PCMCIA files..",please don’t touch any keyboard or mouse, just leave it alone, the  GM MDI USB drive will automatic install. (Picture 7-10)
4: after installation finish, there will be have a message " press any key to continue…" and pls press any key, and software installation partly finish ( Picture 11)
5. Pls connect the USB cable to PC ( do not need to connect to the Car OBD at this time), the first time connect USB to PC, the USB drive will be detected on the lower right corner, then choose automatic install, click next to finish.
6. when USB drive installation finish, on your PC device manager ,you will find a "MDI USB Device(COM..." on Port place. (Picture 12) , if not then pls find the drive on MDI folder on the CD and install, if still not successful, then pls check  if the PC operation is correct or not.
7. open "GM MDI Menager" on the desk to do connection test (if the USB was correct installed, the red "X" on the dialogue will disappear, if the red "X" still on, then pls repeat steap 6
8: finish the installation above, pls connect your PC with internet. ( do not connect to the car OBD ) open this website and activate lease. after you open this web. Write any user’s name and click ok. All choose OK /continue ( picture 15-17)
9: in the main interface, please click "Global Diagnostic System2(GDS 2)" icon, and click GDS2 to run, at that time, software will update lease automatic .after update finish, software GDS2 (Launch GDS2 on the desk) will open automatically , choose the language and back to the main interface.
Bottom left will have a lease expire time. Be attention, it need only your PC systerm time, don’t change. Afterward we don’t need internet to update lease, so if there have any remind indicate new update available,please do not click update (picture 18-21

Test steps:

1: finish update lease step, connect with Car OBD, click diagnostic icon on the interface. Choose brand and click "input" on lower right corner, car information will be read automatically, or you can choose manual input VIN
2:choose test what you want, like module diagnostic—engine control modual—identifying information ( picture22-27)

What protocols does the GM MDI support?
For immediate use — At present, vehicles have two buses on the 16 pin connector
(high speed and low speed GMLAN). The GM MDI communicates using all of the existing GM protocols, the same as the Tech 2:
- UART
- Class 2
- KWP2000
- GMLAN (CAN)
Beginning with the 2008 model year vehicles, Pass-Thru will be the only programming method available. (Remote will continue to be available for previous vehicles.)

2. UPA USB V2012

UPA USB V2012 is UUSP UPA USB Serial Programmer with full adapter set, the main Device can be directly connected to the Elrasoft.com UUSP. It is the importantest difference between UPA USB V2012 and UPA USB V1.2, and V2012 UUSP UPA USB device configuration is done over special config keys.



UPA USB V2012 is the full set with all adapters (such as: PLCC52 ISP Adapters,PLCC68 ISP Adapters,PLCC84 ISP Adapters:). The main Device can be directly connected to the UUSP (UPA-USB Serial Programmer) or by an optional DB9 male / female 1:1 extension cable. It's equipped with a 40pin ZIF Socket for all narrow and wide DIP/DIL devices as well as with a 16 pin SOIC ZIF (150mil, narrow) socket to cover most commonly used devices.

Device configuration is done over special config keys which make the work convenient and safe compared to wiring up all manually.

Additional packages can be covered by commonly available Adapters plugged into the 40 pin ZIF socket.
The main Device further includes a 10 pin ISP connector where the included ISP Adapters can be connected using a standard 1:1 flatribbon cable (included). The included PLCC ISP Adapters are to be put directly over the soldered chip of the target device making the work convenient and safe compared to soldering or using clips connecting up all manually. (Power from the UUSP to the ISP target can be enabled or disabled by a jumper next to the 10 pin ISP connector)
